has anyone tried the covert photon for dancing? if so how does it look/compare to the standard? also, p2 or p3 for a first time PHOTONer? thanks. peace.

Dunno about the coverts, my I surmise they'd be less cool than regulars cause they wouldn't let out peripheral light (that is, out the sides). Go for P2 over P3 for tricks an' jazz...
