I've had photon II's in the past and use them with strings, however if i bang them together the switches would always break. These new Rav'ns look great becuz the switch is digital (i think?) so I won't have the problem of the moving parts breaking inside the light. However, i was wondering if the crystals might break or have any chance of breaking?
I haven't seen one but If the crystals are just stuck on to the front, would they have a chance of breaking if they hit? Any help at all would be great, thanks.

Connor,
I have whacked the hell out of mine a few times, no problems. I stepped on the little bag with 6 crystals in it and didn't break a single one. I'm not saying they are indestructible, but I have had good luck with mine.

I've been swinging poi with my 2 RAv'ns with the largest crystal on 'em, and I will humbley admit I'm not the greatest and have knocked together at way-too-fast miles per hour. The crystals not only stay attached, but haven't broken nor cracked nor chipped yet! I imagine they would if after spinning them in circles fast you slammed 'em down on concrete, but against each other, they're cool. Yes, P2's switches break, but the RAv'ns' switch is really jsut like the button on P2s!

Connor,
No the crystals wont break.... I spin POI as well and believe me they are pretty indestructable... The bulbs are the same as the Photon II's and on top ov that there is a sheilding around them to hold the extended crystals on so theres that .... also the crystals are a plastic resin material ive smacked them pretty hard a few times even on cement while performing a mexican butterfly and the worst that has happened is the extention crystal pops off. when this happens the only thing that changes is that the "stream" of color shortens from the length of the crystal to the length of the bulb.... on strings it isn't a major loss. the connection for the crystals is a plastic tube with a round " lip" at the end and the crystals have a dent in them that fits over the lip perfectly... its pretty solid... Like I said tho... if you hit something with them they could fly off.... I have spoken with brian at PHOTON and his best recomendation was to use a little tape if your concerned with loosing them if you do it right it will be secure without interfering with the light..... whatever you do dont try to glue them on.... trust me

I never thought of it breaking when it strike something and my primary concern was it would fall off and and you'll lose it.

They are actually pretty strong. I guess I had bad luck tho cause I smacked them together and I heard that tinkling sound. So one of them broke at the base. This was on strings. But that's only one like BT said. Have fun with them.

My friend just broke it(along with the whole thing) doing some stupid trick at park at night. It hit a cement bathroom wall structure. The light itself broke in half.

Well, Ill be the 1st to say , I did manage to chip a piece off towards the bottom of the crystal's when I was spinning them fast as hell they banged together. Also when I was twirling with strings they banged together so hard that the battery cover and the batteries came flying out, luckilly i was practicing this at my night shift job and was able to recover all the pieces. Dont worry man they sell just the crystals incase.
