I've always loved the photon lights and use them myself. The new RAV'N light looks mighty fine and I'm considering getting a new "party" light. My question is: exactly what can it do and/or how does it do ti?

The ribbon light looks fun, but I'm does it just go from red to green to blue? ...or does it fade between the colours? Also, what is the speed?

My friend recently got a SAUCE light (www.cksauce.com) and though it's bigger like a glowstick, it has the three (RGB) LEDs like the RAV'N. The SAUCE fades between the LEDs giving you all sorts of colours like baby-blue, red, violet, green, pink, blue, and everything in between. Or, it can change different (random) colours. You can also adjust the speed which it operates or get it to strobe white at two speeds(which is really cool). You can also manually pick a colour between one or two LEDs (as it fades) and just use it as a flashlight (but no white...but the selection is good enough!).

Sorry, I didn't mean to advertise it, but I wanted to know exactly what the RAV'N was capable of. I'm a Photon fan so I'd really like to go with the RAV'N but if it only switches from red to green to blue then I may consider otherwise. Any ideas, suggestions?

Thankz! Surprised)

I checked out some of the other products before purchasing my RAVN's, the quality and customer services of the Photon Light products made the sale for me. Regarding different colors, I have found with my two RAVN ribbons that if I use two of them and liquid them somewhat close together you can produce some magenta and green/yellow colors when someone views them from a few feet away, as the colors overlap.

Brian,
I have both the strobe and the ribbon, My friend and I spin POI and sticks/staffs in some of the clubs in the area and when we cant do fire or if its a big show we use glow sticks. after getting the rav'ns we started using them with glow sticks and while we like both styles, I personally like the ribbon better... In answer to you question, the pattern of red / green / blue is the only way they change pattern... there isn't really a way to change it, and while on the ribbon it really isn't a fade there is no gap between the colors.it is very fluid.
How fast? well lets put it this way. I can spin poi REALLY FAST and even as fast as I spin each color only is only about 2.5 / 3 inches long.
if you don't move the unit at all while it is on it looks as if it is just a white strobe with a little color tint in it.

Hope this helps

How bright are they compared to blue or turqouise Phonton II's?

Hard to answer. Blue/turquoise have a wide angle LEd, light a search light...they illuminate a large area. RAv'ns don't do they, their design makes them more of a Point Source, not so much peripheral light, you wouldn't use 'em as a flash light! But as they are, the ribbon especially is bright, and very vibrant.

The rav'n's i think are made for viewing. So they are pretty bright in that sense and will attract a crowd. The good thing about them is that they don't blind you like the flashlight photons do. So if you break them out at a club or party they won't annoy the bad drunks Wink They don't project their light if you know what I mean. Their brightness is contained.

In my experience, you can blind people temporarily with fresh Blues or Turquoises, but fresh Rav'n's will only get you noticed.

"Ow! Ahh! Hey!" -my friends, when one of us started turning on all SIX of his Photon II's (new batteries).
