Strange Issue with ReX.....

I had lost my recharger unit and while doing some work on my computer I found it attached to the side....nice.

So, I began to recharge my ReX using a AA battery and everything was going well...blinking lights and then the blinking stopped at full charge. I used it for a bit and suddenly the LED's dimmed to a brightness about that I would estimate as about 10% of full brightness (you can see the LED's are on, but looking directly at them is no problem). I tried turning it off and then on again, still, at 10% (or so). Strange...so I connected it to the charger again and no flashing lights, it's fully charged. So, I turned it on while still on the charger and voila, full brightness. So while still on and attached to the charger, I disconnected one of the charger leads, it drops instantly back to 10% brightness...connect the charger lead and bang, back to 100% brightness.

I've tried this several times, and it appears that sometimes when I am connected to the battery the light still stays very dim but if I turn the light on/off a few times and then it kicks into full brightness, until you disconnect it.

Any ideas? I certainly have not reached then 500 or so recharges that I've read is the max, maybe at most 50 (and that is probably high).
