Was researching the forums and discovered the travel mode on the freedom. Simply push the button for the light rapidly and it will turn into a photon 1. Simple push button operation for the light to turn it on. Will not stay on. Then simply hold it for 4 seconds or so to get it back into regular mode. Very cool.
